FAQs Project Management
Q: What do you mean by Project Management?
A: As a Retail Support business our brand of Project Management encompasses all aspects of store development and store operational activity. Our years of experience have taught us how to deliver a successful project, the elements needed and most importantly the aspects that our customers do not need to get ‘bogged down’ with. Our service combines project management planning principles with access to all the key ingredients needed to deliver to scope.
Q: My project involves a number of contractors and suppliers. I am concerned that I will not have enough time to bring all elements together.
A: We can offer full Contractor Management, from merchandising support companies, shop fitters, equipment manufacturers, design agencies to skip hire and cleaning services. We know a project is fluid and therefore our project managers offer control and communication. Our role is to assess the implication of changes and communicate them, offering a flexible solution. This will let your retail development teams focus on your customers.
Q: I need to schedule a range change involving stores across the country, where do I start?
A: Nationwide range changes need complex schedules to take into account stock, equipment, store turnover, store sensitivity and the implementation teams’ project learning curve. We always work on the basis that a schedule must be achievable for all parties and structured to ensure your return on investment is maximised.

Q: We currently use four different merchandising suppliers to create a bit of healthy competition. Unfortunately managing them is taking up too much of my time. What alternative can you offer?
A: Our Master Vendor/Single Vendor agreements can solve this problem for you. Our project managers are able to bring a wealth of industry best practices to the table and utilise our infrastructure for your benefit by providing the following;
Retail Support Centre
rrslink
Training and Validation
Health and Safety organisation
Our objective for delivering a Master Vendor service is simple. You only see one element of change - improvement.
Q: Not only do I need merchandising support, this range change will also require electricians and I really want a one-off call to each store.
A: Let us take control. We can plan, schedule and phase the calls to incorporate your skill requirements. Each project we undertake benefits from a Resource Co-ordinator, whose core objective is to ensure we have the right skills needed to deliver the project. This includes all logistical requirements, such as transport and accommodation, allowing the teams to focus on the project. We utilise recognised national vehicle hire companies and work in partnership with an accommodation booking facility.
Q: I run entire projects from start to finish and get frustrated having to brief different people at each of the different stages of the project, can you change this?
A: Of course! By providing a turnkey operation we work with you at the conceptual stages of a project with CAD Design services, equipment source and supply and a full installations service, all integrated into the entire project process. The benefit to you is that one Project Manager controls all this.
Q: I have the resource I need to complete this project, but I need implementation expertise
A: Our Project Managers live and breathe implementation challenges and are trained to PRINCE2 standards because we believe it offers the framework to aid successful project delivery . Their focus is not on the individuals delivering the plan, but the successful implementation of the plan itself. Our service can supply a single high level Manager or a network of field based managers.
