Introduction
Recruit Retail Services plc have been working with the Kingfisher Group, through B&Q, for over twenty years.
Situation
When Kingfisher’s Trade Division created Trade Depot as a new, standalone business, it had one purpose – to be the best at saving the trade time and money. The target customer is the independent and semi-professional tradesman, a customer group that makes up the lions share of the market. The proposition is ‘always in stock, lowest prices locally and speed of service’.
Solution
Recruit Retail Services plc were asked to help with the trial and roll-out of the concept development and build, of the first store in Millbrook, Southampton.
In the early stages we supported the planning process using our Training and Development centre in Northampton, to trial new ranges and display layouts, giving the client a facility to trial behind closed doors. From here we assisted with the overall store planning process utilising our CAD facility.
Once the new build was ready we supplied project management, racking and installation, shop fitting, POS installation and merchandising.
To strengthen our role in the development of the concept we now source and supply all fixtures for future Trade Depot stores.
Further sites are planned over the next 12 months, as we continue to help the client capture and map the store configuration and layouts.
